Overview

Pura Vida Café, nestled in the heart of Sevilla’s Casco Antiguo, offers a refined blend of art and coffee culture. This cozy art café stands out not only for its specialty espresso-based drinks but also for the intimate, inviting atmosphere it cultivates. Located at C. Villegas, 2, it’s a true hidden gem for those who appreciate expertly crafted coffee in a warm, creative setting.

The café’s main highlight lies in its coffee quality and the expertise behind the bar. Customers consistently praise the richness and flavor depth, with particular mentions of the caramel macchiato and iced americanos sourced from renowned beans of Peru and Ethiopia. The espresso focus delivers a sharp contrast to typical filter coffee spots, attracting enthusiasts who favor nuanced, aromatic brews. While the bean selection leans towards lower-altitude origins, which mildly limits filter coffee options, the overall experience remains compelling for espresso lovers.

Beyond the coffee, the vibe at Pura Vida Café is enhanced by its artistic touches and the personal connections formed inside its modest space. The barista’s passion, exemplified in warm service and engaging conversations, transforms a simple coffee run into a meaningful moment. The space itself is cozy and unpretentious, offering ceramic cups that elevate the drinking experience—much preferred over the thinner paper alternatives for take-away visitors.

Though food options are minimal, they are well-made and complement the caffeinated offerings without detracting from the café’s core focus. This balance makes Pura Vida Café ideal for those seeking quality over quantity; a place where the coffee is the centerpiece and the ambiance invites you to linger.

Visitors who prioritize a singular, outstanding coffee experience in a tranquil yet inspiring environment will find Pura Vida Café a rewarding destination. Whether you’re a local or a traveler hunting for Sevilla’s best cup, keep an eye out for the modest doorway marked simply by the words “Pura Vida.” Inside, expect sincerity, artistry, and some of the finest coffee craft the city has to offer.

Very nice speciality coffee, cozy place and perfect service. I come here quite often to enjoy the drinks as much as a conversation with Mouad (the barista)!

The setting is wonderful, the coffee spectacular. An ideal stop to enjoy a magnificent coffee. It's best to have it there, as the paper cups they serve it in are too thin and break and are quite scorching. The option to have it there is to serve it in a ceramic cup. Remember, it's very small. The chances of getting something to eat are almost nil. But the food is very good.

Cute coffee shop. I stopped by as it uses beans from a roaster that I like a lot - ineffable. However the bean selection is very limited, all from low altitudes, not so suitable for making filter coffee. The batch brew is average, however, considering they mostly do espresso based coffee, I am giving 4 stars for possibilities of coming back in the future.

Excellent coffee. Easily the best in Sevilla. I own a coffee shop and we roast our own coffee. Believe me when I say this is good coffee. It's easy to miss so keep your eyes open for only a doorway with the words "Pura Vida" over top.

best iced latte in southern spain! stumbled upon this place by accident, it’s small inside but they had the smoothest and most flavorful cup of iced latte. enjoyed this drink outside on the benches while people watching.

Honored to be the 100th review. Here in Seville for a 3-day trip and we’ve been at this cafe for three days. I’m usually a tea person while being a bit allergic to coffee because of the caffeine. But the coffee here was really good when I had I sip and I can’t help myself to order my own. I tried their Mockaccino, pumpkin spice latte, cappuccino, cortado and flat white. My personal favorite is pumpkin spice latte and mockaccino and I love their Costa Rica coffee beans. It would be lovely if I can visit this cafe when I visit Seville again. See you next time! @mcrhkgirlie
